Judges' Comments: This exhibit is a stand-alone, elegant design for a small-scale
garden. Superior quality of overall execution including stonework, attention to details
and exceptional plant material. An easily understood design that will be inspirational
to gardeners with limited space. Judges can imagine this garden lit at night, or in any
season.

Judges' Comments: Loose formality is a nice take on historical design.
Despite nonhistorical cultivars the simplicity of the design evokes a
traditional garden. Hand split granite is within keeping of the historical
character.

underlying design principles to the public.

Judges' Comments: Elegant and understated this garden is
reminiscent of a New England period style. Use of stone unifies a
garden and defines multilevels successfully. Understory plants create
a harmonious base. A small fountain provides visual focal point. A
convincing presentation of design principle.

Judges' Comments: Spring Estates Garden - "Yes it is!" Amazing
peony! This type is rare and unusual. Cornus alternifolia is an excellent
choice. Good selection of plants and quality forcing. Beautiful subtlety
in execution of design. Masonry well laid out and shows interesting varieties.
Attention of detail is marvelous, especially in the use of moss. Choices
are appropriate to this site.
